Bargin Buys: $20 Marshalls Haul

How fitting that the post before this is the The Shopaholic Tag. I have a small haul that I thought I would share. Earlier in the week I went to Marshalls to just look and see if anything caught my eye. A few things did and I only spent $20 ($20.67 if you want to be technical).

This shirt caught my eye. I know it is not very bright and Springy but I tend to like more neutral colors. I already have a few ideas for how I am going to style it. The best part was it was only $9.99.

I have been wanting to try out a blending sponge since I see so many people raving about them on YouTube. This one was only $5.99 (cheaper than the one I saw in Target) and its purple! The notebook caught my eye at first because of the Eiffel Tower. But when I looked at it I thought it would be a great notebook for my blog notes. I have been using just a plain regular one. Having one that is a little bit fancier will be nice. Plus I can also decorate the cover how I want since it is like a cardboard material. I use a notebook to brainstorm ideas, write down questions for tags, keep track of my posts throughout the month, etc. I have always liked being able to write stuff down. The notebook was only $3.99.

Have you found any good bargains recently? Let me know in the comments.

Till next time,

Bargain Buys: Valentine's Socks & Clearance Jewerly

I just had to share the bargains I picked up today. I was at Target and I was in the sock section when I came across a entire section of Valentine's Day socks. There was no clearance sign, actually there was no price sign of any kind. So I grabbed a pair and checked it on the price scanner. I love the stores that have price checkers. Makes things so much simpler if you are wondering a price or wondering if something is on sale. Anyway back on topic, I checked the price and found out that the socks that were once $5 each were now..... drum roll........ only 50 cents! How can you pass that up? I couldn't, here are the ones I got:

I thought the black and white stripped with the red heart were really cute. They came with a pair of red with white polka dots which I realize you can't really see in the picture (oops, sorry). The long fluffy pink and gray ones I got cause I just loved the colors. I am not a big pink person but I really like this pick. Its soft and not overwhelming  And then I just had to get the Eiffel Tower slippers. I had seen them on YouTube but as much as I love Paris stuff I wasn't gonna pay the $5 for them. But 50 cents, yeah that I can do that.

My Target had a bunch of the Valentine's Day socks left plus a bunch of other clearance socks. I know each store is different but I definitely would try checking out your local store to see what they have if you are looking for some awesomely cheap socks.

When I was in the Old Navy outlet they had a bunch of clearance Jewelry for $1.99. I picked up two things. A pair of earrings and a bracelet:

Most of the clearance jewerly were over sized earrings. I am not a big fan of big jewerly I have always preferred smaller more dainty pieces.  So I was happy when I found the earrings and bracelet above.

Old Navy also had tons of clearance clothes I just didn't end up finding anything I wanted.

Stores have tons of clearance items right now as they make room for Spring and Summer, so it is a great time to shop for that bargain.

What are some recent clearance/bargain buys you have found? Let me know in the comments.

Till next time,

I fell in love with a sweater

So yesterday instead of cleaning I decided to go to Marshalls. I have only recently gotten into shopping at Marshals, TJ Maxx (found my current purse there), and Home Goods. Marshalls ( & TJ Maxx & Home Goods) are the type of store(s) were you need to have the time to just browse, there is so much stuff to look at that if you don't have the time to really look you may miss something. A bunch of things caught my eye but I ended up leaving with only two.

This sweater:

This sweater caught my eye so I decided to try it on. It fit perfectly! I love this sweater! It is so soft and it has sleeves that can be super long if want(which sometimes I like in the winter to keep my hands extra warm) or rolled up if you prefer. Also has this cute patch detail on the sleeves:

I think this will be a great sweater to keep me warm for the fall/winter. The brand is between me & you and it was only $16.99.

I also spotted this really cute cat placemat:

For months I had been looking for a placemat for my cats food dishes. I ended up getting one last month at Walmart. But when I saw this one I couldn't pass it up cause it is so much cuter than the one I got at Walmart. It is also bigger than the one from Walmart which is better since I have 2 cats and I have a extra food dish for them. It was only $3.99, another reason I couldn't pass it up.

Till next time. :)

Ulta Haul

Ulta Haul

So this was definitely not a planned haul.  I went to 2 Ultas over the weekend  because I have had my eye on one thing, the Benefit Ultamate Sexy Six Starter Set. I ended up leaving with three additional makeup items. Its Ulta, it is so hard not to! :) So my bf and I went to the first Ulta and he  actually wanted to go because he was looking for a electric razor (which he got).  They were out of the Benefit Starter Set at that Ulta so I ended up looking at some of the drugstore brands makeup. I got 2 things from Rimmel London (this is my first time trying this brand). It was buy one get one for 50% off so I figured I might as well get a second thing for 5o% off.  I got a blush called Autumn Catwalk, which is a very pretty trio of blendable blushes and a highlighter.  I haven't tried it yet so we shall see. I also got a lip gloss, I almost got a lipstick but I tend to wear lip glosses more. I wanted a darker fall shade since many of my glosses are neutral. I ended up with a shimmery berry color in Stay Glossy color Captivate Me. I have tried it and it does look very pretty on.  Once I wear it more I will get a idea of its staying power and if I want to buy other colors. I might end up buying more Rimmel London products if these products work for me. I notice that this brand is pretty reasonably priced.

We ended up going to the second Ulta (which took a bit of convincing on my part to get my bf to go since he had already got his razor). I really wanted to see if they had the Benefit Starter set and I was happy to find that they did. I saw this in my Ulta flyer and have been eyeing it ever since. For $24 you get six of Benefit bestselling products in travel/trial sizes. I have never used any Benefit products so I thought this would be a great way for me to try the different products and see if I like any of them enough to buy the full size versions. Plus it comes in handy to have travel size makeup items. I haven't used any of the items yet.

In case your wondering this is what you get in the set:

-posie tint lip & cheek stain

-high beam highlighter

-"that girl" brightening face primer

-Bad gal lash mascara

-Stay Don't Stray primer

-Hoola bronzing powder

The last thing I got was a total impulse buy. I saw it at the first Ulta but I didn't get it. Then I saw it again at the second Ulta and they only had a few left. So I am standing there trying to justify buying both the starter set and this stila palette. My bf got tired of waiting so he goes outside. When I come out after I pay he goes goes "you got both didn't you".  I just couldn't put one back.  I got the stila not so nude collectible palette for $20. Not sure if this is new or not but this was the first time I have seen it. It has 6 eye shadows, 1 all over shimmer, and 1 convertible color. One of the awesome things about this palette is that it is a great size for travel. It also has a little mirror in it. The eye shadows are sugar, fawn, barefoot, buff, mink, dolce. the all over shimmer is in kitten, and convertible color  is in lily. Just noticed some of the eye shadows are very similar if not the same as the ones in the in the moment palette. So the not so nude palette will probably end up being my go to palette for travel since its smaller and thinner than my in the moment palette.  Again I have yet to try the palette. I have not worn any makeup for the past 2 days.

] A closer look at the palette.

If anyone would like swatches and/or reviews on the products once I have tried them let me know and I will be more than happy to do a blog post on it. :)

I also finally bought myself a new brush (very much long over do) but I forgot to take a picture.

Till next time. :)

Recent Beauty Buys!

Hello all, thought I would share some of my recent beauty buys/purchases. Includes some makeup items, some nail polishes, two perfumes and a random hair accessory. All these items were  accumulated over a few weeks.

I will start with makeup.

I repurchased Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express mascara (waterproof)  in very black. Mine was getting dried up and I had been using it since I originally purchased it in June so it was time for a repurchase. I really like Maybelline mascaras.

Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion in original.  I had been using a primer I got from NYC line, but I really wanted to try the Urban Decay one since I have seen it used in so many YouTube videos. I have been using it for a  few weeks now and so far so good.

Next up is Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells eye shadow  trio. BudgetBeautiful  on YouTube mentioned this product in her August Favorites video and since it is only $2.99 I had to check it out. I tried it out today for the first time and my first impression is I like it. I think they will be great neutral colors I can wear to work.

And lastly is Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige. I read about the limited edition Color Tattoo shadows on a few beauty blogs, especially this color.  This color caught my interest as well since the only thing I have close to such a neutral color is the  CoverGirl Shadowblast in Beige Blaze and I find that one just alright, I don't really like the whole wand application. So I happened to see it at my Rid Aid one day when I had stopped in to get something else ( I almost didn't see it). They only had one left so I grabbed it. I am glad I did. I really like the color, its the perfect neutral eye color for me to wear to work when I don't want to skip shadow but I don't wanna look like I am wearing a ton of eye makeup.

A closer look at the shadows.

Next up nail polish.  I haven't used any of these polishes yet.

I picked up two more Sinful Colors polishes.  A matte white called  Snow Me White. I figured a basic white is a good color to have on hand. I wanna get a basic black polish too ( 9/8/12 update:While at Target tonight I picked up the black Sinful Colors polish called Black on Black).  Then I picked up the sparkly All About You because it reminded me of  China Glaze  Electrify  from The Hunger games collection which I was sad I missed that collection.  I also picked up a Maybelline Color Show polish in Impeccable Grey because I really wanted to try their polishes. I  picked up a Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat because I wanted to try another type of top coat.

Next  I picked up 2 perfumes recently.

Purr and Curious

I picked up Katy Perry's Purr in a roller ball because I wanted something I could put in my purse and because I wanted to try the scent and see if I liked enough to buy the regular bottle of it. I am currently looking for a new scent, so if anyone has any suggestions send them my way. I also picked up a 1.7 fl oz bottle of Britney Spear's Curious. I had the big bottle of this fragrance when it first came out.  I remember liking it back then and re-smelling it now I still like it.  I had to toss my big bottle of it though cause it sat in my room at home unused when I went away to college and when I got finally moved back home it wasn't any good and I think the spray part was broken as well. So I got myself a small bottle of it at Tj Maxx cause it was cheap. Love the bottle too.

And lastly I got a hair accessory when I was at Walmart.

They had a 2 pack of the ribbon hair ties for only $2. 9/8/12 update: tonight at Target I noticed that they had a 3 pack of these hair ties 2 packs for $5 (not the $5 each as I had thought) or 1 for $2.50. I picked up 2 packs of them even though I still have yet to try them. Hopefully I will like them and they are as good as everyone on YouTube says. They definitely look prettier than just a plain old elastic hair tie.

What are some of your recent beauty buys?

9/10/12

I figured I would add this to this post since its only a few things. On Saturday  along with going to Target I also stopped into Bath & Body Works. I had been waiting for their full line of fall scents to come out cause I wanted to get a fall scented lotion for my bathroom. After smelling all the scents I ended up going with the scent that had already been out for like a month, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. I had a coupon for a free small mini candle so I picked up  one in Leaves. I also had a coupon for a free sample size lotion of their new scent Cashmere Glow so I also picked that up as well. Just put some on now and the scent is pretty nice. I love these size lotions cause they are perfect for your purse. Plus you can't go wrong with free. The best way to know when they are going to offer a coupon for a free sample lotion is to like them on Facebook. You can claim it and they email you the coupon, and then you can just show them on your phone the coupon, you don't have to print it out.

Till next time. :)

Reorganizing And A New Purse

Hello all, just wanted to talk about a few things.

Reorganizing.

I am in the process of reorganizing my bedroom and how I store things. My bedroom is on the small side so I don't have room to have a vanity/makeup table :( . So I decided to get a storage cart (the one with ten colorful drawers, famously seen on Youtube).

Going to use it for my makeup and maybe some nail and hair stuff, etc. This stuff is currently on my dressers so I figured it would free up my dresser tops and make them look less cluttered. Let me know if I should do a post about how I reorganized when I am done.

New purse

I spent the day with my dad. We took a ride upstate, had lunch and went to Walmart and TJ Maxx (two stores I don't go to often).  I got some beauty stuff but more on that later.  I was looking in TJ Maxx not really looking for anything in particular and I came across this great purse which I liked right away. The brand is Sparrow True and it was $25 (which is $5  cheaper than the purse I got at Target which I have been using all summer). It is a medium size, over the shoulder bag. The color is a dark grayish black. Inside there is one main pocket (which zippers up, a must have for me).  There is also a small zipper pocket in the main pocket. Outside are two small pockets which snap close. I really like the style of the bag and I think it will be perfect for the fall/winter.

I just wanted to mention that I am not doing a August favorites post because most of my August favorites are the same things from July.

One last thing:

Saw it at Walmart and couldn't pass it up. It was only $19.99 and it comes with a Mockingjay pendant which I thought was cool.

Till next time. :)

Small haul (8/15/12)

Hello all, sorry for the lack of posts lately.  So today I have a small haul for you.  I stopped posting hauls because when I first started this blog I ended up having all haul posts (I shop to much :( ).  I still think its fun though to see what people get (I watch haul videos and read haul posts myself) so I figure every now and then I will include a haul post, like today. :)

I spent the day with my dad. Since the weather was stormy we went to the mall. I didn't go to crazy today but I did pick up a few things.  We went into Sears. I used to shop in Sears all the time when I was a kid. But I haven't really shopped in a Sears in years. They have a huge cosmetics section now! They have all the drugstore brands and they even had NYX,  which I have only seen at Ulta. The selection is not as big as Ulta's and I think Sears is a bit more expensive but I still think its awesome that I now know of a another store that carries that brand. I picked up one thing from NYX, the Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese, the one everyone talks about on YouTube. I was going to get it the other day when I went to Ulta but the ones they had all looked like they had been opened and used so I passed on getting it then. I was happy to see it and I got the last one they had out.  I also picked up a Maybelline Colors Sensational lip gloss in the clearance section of makeup they had for only $3.25. I got the color Sandstone Shimmer. I think these lip glosses have been discontinued because the two times I have seen them they have been on clearance, so I figured I should pick up a extra for when I need to replace my current one.  I also popped into bath and Body Works and picked up only one thing. A Candy Corn hand sanitizer. I only got one since I picked up five when I went last Saturday. I don't think the Candy Corn ones were out Saturday, I didn't see them. Anyway  I really wanted the Candy Corn one for October so I picked it up. I go through these fast since I use them at work a lot. Even though this has nothing to do with this haul post I just wanted to say  the gift from Saturdays party was so cute. It gets me all excited for fall. I will include a picture to show what was included in the gift.

Todays mini haul.

B&BW gift from Saturdays event. It came in a little blue (or pink) bag.

Then before we left we stopped into Old Navy and they had a bunch of cute new things in for fall but I resisted since they were full price.  I did pick up two pairs of jeans though, since I needed some and they were on sale for $19.00 (originally $29.50). $19 for jeans is pretty awesome in my opinion.

That is all I got today. Till next time. :)
