What is in my Cosmo Vox Box!

Hello all! I was lucky enough to receive Influenster's Cosmo Vox Box*, so I thought I would share what was in it and my first thoughts. Look for a later post reviewing the products. In case your not familiar, Influenster is a free online community were members review products and such. Check out their About page here as they explain in detail all about the site.

So here is what was in the box:

Two FriXion by Pilot pens (one in black and one in purple). They have gel ink which can be erased with the rubber tip. My first thoughts: I was excited I got a purple pen since purple is my favorite color. Also the black cause I prefer black pens over blue. I am also excited in general to try these pens out, since I like to write. Maybe using these pens will motivate me to get back into writing snail mail.

Forever Red Eau de Parfume by Bath and Body Works. Size .25 fl oz, the scent is a blend of pomegranate, red osmanthus and vanilla rum. My first thoughts: Any one who knows me, knows I love my perfumes and body sprays and such. So I was super excited to see this in the box, especially since I had almost bought the exact same trial size bottle in the store.I love being able to test a scent out before committing to a larger size bottle. Plus the smaller trial size bottles are great for travel.

There are two Venus products. The Gillette Venus Embrace razor and razor handle and also a Gillette Venus & Olay razor. My first thoughts: Yay! I use Venus razors and really like them. So its great to have a extra razor handle and razors. They also included a $2 off coupon for the razor refills which is pretty awesome.

Ghirardelli Gourmet Milk Sea Salt Escape. Milk chocolate with sea salt and almonds.
My first thoughts: Ghirardelli has really good chocolate. I have some of their peppermint bark right now. This chocolate bar looks super yummy and I can't wait to try it. I think I will be nice and wait till my bf is over so I can share some with him.

 That is what is in the Cosmo Vox Box. Super excited to try everything out. Look for a post in the future reviewing these products.

Hope everyone is having a great December!

Till next time,
Amber

Review and Collection: Sinful Nail Polishes

Hello everyone! I have been talking about writing this blog post since the summer and I am finally doing it! Here is my review* and also collection of Sinful  Colors nail polishes. Over the summer I picked up and tried this brand for the first time. You can find these polishes at most drugstores and stores like Target and Walmart. I think they retail for around $1.99. I ended up really liking these polishes and I now have a collection of 8! I am sure it will grow in the future.

I like these polishes because:

  •  How affordable they are.  You can't beat $2 for a nail polish. I only have a few higher end polishes. Not only because I am on a limited budget but you can find some drugstore polishes that are just as great as the higher end ones and cost so much less.

  •  They apply very nice. I have never had any problems with applications. I  usually do two coats and I am good to go. I don't really know exactly how long it takes for them to dry since I usually give my nails extra time to dry because I get so annoyed  when I do my nails and then mess it up right away.

  •  They are long lasting. I do use a top coat over them as I do with all my polishes now. Over the summer I had two colors that I wore constantly and I could go days with little to no chipping especially if I kept my nails short as I usually do.

  • There is a wide variety of colors. Keep in mid though that some stores have more than others, like my Rite Aid carries more colors than my Target. So if you are looking for a particular color you may have to check out a few stores to find it.

My collection:

The colors I have are (starting at the top row left) 369 Ruby Ruby, 5162 Seaweed, 101 Snow Me white, 2 Black On Black, (second row bottom left) 921 All About You, 62 Purple Diamond, 947 Mint Apple, 952 Hazard.

Here are some of my past posts using Sinful Colors polishes:

and my latest nail post, the black polish I use under the glitter polish is a Sinful Colors nail polish:

A few of them I have yet to use.

In closing I will say that I definitely recommend these if your looking for a good inexpensive nail polish.

Till next time. :)

*This is not a sponsored  post. All opinions are my own. All the polishes were bought with my own money. :)

Nails: Black On Black & Party Of Five Glitters

Hello all! Last night I finally decided to do my nails. I had on my previous polish for about two weeks (I just touched it up on week two). I had picked up another new Wet n Wild polish when I had picked up the one from my previous nail post.The polish I got is one of their fast dry ones and it is a really pretty sparkly polish called (238C) Party of Five Glitters (I think it was around $2/$3). I didn't want to just use the glitter polish though. I wanted to have a base color under. All week I had been debating what color would would go with this glitter polish, out of the colors I already own. I finally ended up going with black (inspired by this blog post).

Now I don't think I have ever worn black nail polish before. I don't know why but it kinda scares me. Maybe because it can be very intense. So I figured putting the glitter on top would help lighten it up. I bought black nail polish because I figured it would be a good basic color to have in my collection. I used Sinful Colors in (2) Black On Black. Then I used the Party Of Five Glitters polish on top after that dried. I wanted a lot of glitter so I had to go over each nail a few times. When that dried (or at least I had though it did) I used my Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat.

The problem I ran into was that it took a super long time for it to dry. I guess because I had so much polish on???? The glitter polish did not seem fast dry in my opinion. But then again I did like 3 coats on each nail so I would get extra glitter. I have to try out the glitter polish again before I make any final conclusions on it. A couple of my nails got  a little messed up from not being completely dry and me hitting them on something ( so frustrating!) but in the end it ended up being barley noticeable.

What do you think of this nail look?

Till next time. :)

My new guilty pleasure: Gossip Girl

Hello all! I know I seriously slacked on blog posts last month. I had high hopes for the month of October and it just didn't turn out the way I had planed. But its a new month so I am happy to start fresh.

Before I get to this post I just want to mention hurricane Sandy. I live in the area ( the northeast) that was affected. I was very fortunate where I live. The only thing I have had to deal with because of the storm is loss of a paycheck this week because where I work has not had power. I have been following the news  and know how much worse it has been for so many people. I just want to say my thoughts are with all the people and families affected.

So since I have been out of work and home all week I basically had a Gossip Girl marathon. I had started watching this show earlier in the month on Netflix. Over this past week I have completely caught up to the current season (which I am sad to find out is its last :( ).  I love this show! I don't know why I didn't start watching it sooner. Especially since I used to read the books when I was younger.

Here is a random list of my thoughts on the show:

  • My favorite characters: Dan aka lonely boy, some of the funniest scenes involve his character. For example, when he was a cater waiter at Eleanor Waldorf 's and he had to pretend he was there as Serena's date. Also in the opening episode of this season when him and Georgina take the road trip to find Serena. Plus Penn Badgley is hot! Chuck, everyone loves a bad boy enough said. I will add however that I like how they have showed how his character has matured over the years. The same can be said for another one of my favorite characters Blair. I didn't like her character that much in the early seasons but she has changed while still keeping enough of her old self to keep things interesting. Blair's housekeeper Dorota, who also provides many comical moments. Georgina, who I hated in the first season, is now a character I can't see the show without. She doesn't hide the fact she likes to scheme and mess with people and I like that.

  • My least favorite characters: Jenny, in the first season you kinda feel sorry for Jenny, Blair is pretty awful to her after all. But as the seasons continue I don't feel sorry for her anymore, I just find her annoying and mean. I was not that sad to see her leave the series. Another character that has left and I don't particularly miss is Vanessa. I feel like she never quite fit in, but then again I guess that was the point of her character. Ivy and her whole story line I was never a fan of. I understand they needed to replace Jenny and Vanessa and bring in another character since they left the show. In the current season it kinda weirds me out that she is hooking up with Dan's dad.

  • I love the fashion! I love the edginess of Serena's wardrobe and the contrast of that to Blair's classic style. I really wanna dress up like Blair for a costume party. I wish I had some of her gorgeous dresses in my closet.

  • Blair and Chuck as a couple. I have been rooting for Blair and Chuck as a couple since the first season. As much as I liked Blair with Dan, Chuck is her soul mate. Something always seems to get in the way though of them being together. They better end the series with them being together (its like Ross and Rachel from Friends its just meant to be).

  • Gossip Girl herself. I like the added narration of the show by Gossip Girl. I really hope they do the big reveal on who Gossip Girl is before the series ends. I think everyone will be upset if they don't.

Do you watch this show? If so what are your thoughts? Leave me a comment below or talk to me on Twitter: @inthemomentt12. I would love to talk Gossip Girl with anyone.

Till next time. :)

XOXO,

Amber :D ( I had to)

P.S. I forgot to mention how awesome it was that Gabe from Cobra Starship had a cameo in the last episode of season 5!

Nails: Haze of Love

Hello all! I know my last post was a nail post but I got another one for you. Last week while I was out, I randomly picked up a Wet n Wild megalast nail polish in Haze of Love. The price was $1.99. The color is a dark berry color, perfect for fall. Also a color I didn't have. I have to say that I am very impressed with this polish. Application was good, and the staying power was also pretty impressive. I used my Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat  as usual. After a week of wearing the polish I just needed to just touch up a few areas that were chipping instead of having to completely redo my nails. I will definitely be checking out more Wet n Wild polishes (especially in the megalast line).

Till next time. :)

Nails: Penny Talk (my first essie polish)

Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Today I have a nail post that is two weeks overdue. I still wanted to post it since it is my first essie nail polish! Two weeks ago I picked up essie's penny talk. I had been eyeing this polish since it came out. I finally broke down and treated myself to it. $8 for a nail polish is a lot for me so I was really happy that I ended up really liking this polish. The actual polish itself I found went on well and had pretty good staying power. The color is gorgeous. The actual color of pennies when they are new is so pretty(which is the color of this polish). Most of the time we see only old dirty pennies which are definitely not pretty at all. I am glad I picked up this polish. I used two coats and my Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat.

These pictures really don't do this color justice ( sorry about the poor quality :( ), I didn't want to post without any pictures.

Till next time. :)

Ideas For Inexpensive Wall Decor

I wanted to share some ideas for inexpensive wall decor using items that are not necessarily meant to be wall decor. I have used all these to decorate my apartment.

1) First up is using something as simple as a Christmas ornament. Instead of hanging it on your tree hang it on your wall! This mostly works for ones that are flat (or mostly flat).

Example:

I have to give credit to my mom for this idea. My bathroom is Paris themed. While out shopping last year, we saw this really cute Paris ornament  (the one in the picture adbove)  My mom had the idea to hang it on the wall in my bathroom. So I did and it does look really cute. This is a great time of year to look for ornaments since some stores have started to put out Christmas stuff or will be doing so soon.

Calender (left) & Note cards (right)

2)Next I found this Paris calender in a dollar store for a dollar. I already have a 2012 calender so I didn't need it for that. I did like the pictures so I thought they would be great to hang up in my bedroom since I also have the Paris theme in my bedroom. I went through and picked my favorite pictures and hung them on my closet doors:

I might eventually buy some cheap frames and frame them and then hang them on the wall in a group which I think would look really nice too.

3) My last idea is using some really cute note cards as wall decor.  I saw this box of (what else) Paris themed note cards at Homegoods for $5. There are 4 different pictures so I  bought a picture frame that holds 4 photos at Homegoods for like $7. Then I simply cut the cards in half and trimmed the cards so that they fit in the frame, put them in the frame and I was done:

What are your ideas for inexpensive wall decor? Let me know in the comments below.

Till next time. :)

September Favorites!

I was going to do this post yesterday and have it posted but I was super lazy and spent most of the day watching the first season of Gossip Girl (now I am hooked). So I am doing it today. September went by fast, but I am happy that now its really starting to feel like fall.  I didn't do a favorites for August so I wanted to do one for September.

Beauty favorites:

1)Maybelline Mega Plush Volum' Express waterproof mascara in very black. This is my second time buying this mascara. I ended up liking it enough that when it came time for me to get another mascara cause the one I was using needed to be replaced I picked this one up again. I use two coats as I have mentioned before and I stuck with the waterproof formula.

2) Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in original. This is my first high end eyeshadow primer (I haven't tried my Benefit mini one yet). I do like this one. Even though its $20 for a small tube you  end up using very little product so I can see this one tube lasting for a very long time.

3) Wet-n-Wild Walking On Eggshells trio. Love this trio and I loved the $2.99 price. I wear this trio a lot for work since its a more neutral/natural look. I have to say I am impressed with the quality of these eyeshadows as well.

4) Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige. This is another one of my neutral/natural go to eyeshadows I wear to work. I think its a great shade to have in your collection.

5) Maybelline (can you tell I like Maybelline products?) Baby Lips in Peach Kiss. Still loving this one.

6) Revoln Just Bitten  Kissable Balm Stains in Precious. This was my first time trying these and I ended up liking them quite a bit. I got two, a darker red one which I haven't worn much yet and this more natural color which I love to wear with the Baby Lips Peach kiss layered over it  which I  think  gives it a little something extra.

7) EOS lip balm in Sweet Mint. I didn't think I would like this flavor, not sure why, but I ended up loving it. I keep this on my night stand and use it all the time before bed, in the morning, etc.

8) Maybelline Color Show polish in Impeccable Greys. I was pretty impressed with this polish and I love this color. Definitely think I will be getting more Maybelline polishes.

9) Bath & Body Works, Into The Wild. I got this scent at the semi annual sale because I think it was like 50% off and it is one of the scents they have discontinued ( you can still get it on their website). Its not necessarily a fall scent but I like it.

10) Victoria's Secret, Passionate Kisses. This body spray is cherry & vanilla. I also picked this one up at VS semi annual sale for like $4, so I don't know how you could get it now, unless you use maybe ebay or something. This one smells a little more  fallish (making up my own words) to me.

11) Remington Hair ties. I ended up really liking these hair ties. They look pretty on your wrist and in your hair. It gives a basic pony tail a little something extra.

Non beauty favorites:

12) Gap 1969 jeans. Gap had a sale one day buy one get one 50% off. I thought that was pretty good sale. I picked up two pairs the dark ones (pictured) and a lighter blue pair. I have been wearing the lighter blue ones a lot and I just love the way they look on me. I have had their jeans in the past and I have always really liked the quality of their jeans.

13) Green tea & honey. As soon as I felt the weather getting a little cooler I broke out my green tea.  Sometimes I end up having 3 to 4 cups a day. Green tea with honey is just so yummy.

For some reason I can't think of any song or movie favorites for this month. I also didn't really go to many movies this past month.

Till next time. :)

Nails: Impulsive

Kept it simple this week. I really like this dark purple polish from Revlon called Impulsive.

I also used my usual Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat.

Till next time. :)

I fell in love with a sweater

So yesterday instead of cleaning I decided to go to Marshalls. I have only recently gotten into shopping at Marshals, TJ Maxx (found my current purse there), and Home Goods. Marshalls ( & TJ Maxx & Home Goods) are the type of store(s) were you need to have the time to just browse, there is so much stuff to look at that if you don't have the time to really look you may miss something. A bunch of things caught my eye but I ended up leaving with only two.

This sweater:

This sweater caught my eye so I decided to try it on. It fit perfectly! I love this sweater! It is so soft and it has sleeves that can be super long if want(which sometimes I like in the winter to keep my hands extra warm) or rolled up if you prefer. Also has this cute patch detail on the sleeves:

I think this will be a great sweater to keep me warm for the fall/winter. The brand is between me & you and it was only $16.99.

I also spotted this really cute cat placemat:

For months I had been looking for a placemat for my cats food dishes. I ended up getting one last month at Walmart. But when I saw this one I couldn't pass it up cause it is so much cuter than the one I got at Walmart. It is also bigger than the one from Walmart which is better since I have 2 cats and I have a extra food dish for them. It was only $3.99, another reason I couldn't pass it up.

Till next time. :)

Nails: Impeccable Greys & Glitz Gal

I combined the two previous weeks polish for this weeks look.  Glitz Gal on its own started to chip pretty fast so I figured it would last longer on top of another polish. I also used  Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat over them both. I really like the look of these two polishes together.

Till next time. :)

Welcome Fall!!

Fall is officially here! I wanted to share some of the reasons why I think this season rocks!

The weather starts to change. It is no longer that unbearable can't stand to be outside hot but yet its not yet that unbearable can't stand to be outside cold. Temps in the 70s/60s, yes please.  Perfect to enjoy all the great outside fall activities.

Tea time. With the weather cooling down  it is the perfect time to start drinking hot tea again. I love both hot and ice tea but tend to stick with iced during the summer since drinking hot tea just makes me even hotter (always wondered about those people who will drink hot coffee/tea on a 90 degree day). There is just something about sitting down with a good book and a mug of hot tea. Going to add hot chocolate, hot coffee, and soup here as well. All hot beverages/foods I tend to skip in the hot summer months but welcome back into my life as the weather turns cooler.

Fall clothes. After 3 to 4 months of shorts, tanks, and flip flops by the end of August I can't wait to break out my jeans, sweaters, and boots. Also doesn't hurt that all the stores start to put out there awesome fall clothes (great excuse to go shopping). It is a similar excitement in the spring when I take out my summer clothes that have been packed away for months. Rediscovering my wardrobe. Many times I find things that I had forgotten I owned. Plus I can finally start wearing those awesome items that I picked up when they were on clearance  in the spring/summer.

Fall TV. You gotta love the fall TV season.  After a summer full of mostly reruns most (except those that start mid-season like Smash :( ) shows start up again with new episodes come the fall season. Also this time of year brings a bunch of new shows and while many will end up  cancelled there are usually a few gems.

What returning/new shows are you looking forward to?

Apple Picking ( & cider donuts).  I only went once about 5/6 years ago, but I loved it.  Not only was there apple picking but there was also a corn maze, and haunted house and you could buy fall treats such as apple cider and cider donuts, love me some cider donuts. Many places also have hayrides and farm animals. I have never been pumpkin picking but that sounds like fun as well. I am not a huge apple person but I do like apple pie and apple picking is a great excuse to make one (or two or three ;) ).

Halloween & Haunted Houses. I love Halloween because I love to dress up! Growing up I wanted to be a actress. I love putting on a costume and being someone else for a night. My bf does a annual Halloween party at his house. Everyone dresses up and we get cool decorations, and yummy candy. We do the whole couple thing and match our costumes. One year we were pirates, then last year I was a flapper and he was a gangster,this year we are still figuring out our costumes. To go along with Halloween another thing I love about this  time of year is the haunted houses (not the real kind, the kind were people dress up and jump out at you and try to scare you). My bf and my friends and I all love to go to these. I don't find them that scary but I think its hilarious to walk through and see other peoples reactions. There is always a group of girls who scream at everything. We always end up laughing like crazy going through them and every now and then I will admit I may get a little scared and jump. So freaky when the actors follow behind you.  Not sure which ones we are going to this year but we are definitely going to Six Flags Fright Fest since we have season passes.

Would anyone be interested  in future blog posts on the haunted houses I go to this year?

My Anniversary with My BF. So this is a personal reason. I met and started dating my bf during the fall so our anniversary falls ( no pun intended!  haha ) in the fall. We usually go away for a few days to celebrate.

What are your favorite things about fall? Let me know in the comments below.

Till next time. :)

Nails: Glitz Gal

I ended up using a polish I have had for months but had yet to use.  Sally Hansen Gem crush in Glitz Gal. Its very pretty once on but can be a bit difficult to work with. You need at least 2 coats if not 3. I also used my normal Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat.

Till next time. :)

Ulta Haul

Ulta Haul

So this was definitely not a planned haul.  I went to 2 Ultas over the weekend  because I have had my eye on one thing, the Benefit Ultamate Sexy Six Starter Set. I ended up leaving with three additional makeup items. Its Ulta, it is so hard not to! :) So my bf and I went to the first Ulta and he  actually wanted to go because he was looking for a electric razor (which he got).  They were out of the Benefit Starter Set at that Ulta so I ended up looking at some of the drugstore brands makeup. I got 2 things from Rimmel London (this is my first time trying this brand). It was buy one get one for 50% off so I figured I might as well get a second thing for 5o% off.  I got a blush called Autumn Catwalk, which is a very pretty trio of blendable blushes and a highlighter.  I haven't tried it yet so we shall see. I also got a lip gloss, I almost got a lipstick but I tend to wear lip glosses more. I wanted a darker fall shade since many of my glosses are neutral. I ended up with a shimmery berry color in Stay Glossy color Captivate Me. I have tried it and it does look very pretty on.  Once I wear it more I will get a idea of its staying power and if I want to buy other colors. I might end up buying more Rimmel London products if these products work for me. I notice that this brand is pretty reasonably priced.

We ended up going to the second Ulta (which took a bit of convincing on my part to get my bf to go since he had already got his razor). I really wanted to see if they had the Benefit Starter set and I was happy to find that they did. I saw this in my Ulta flyer and have been eyeing it ever since. For $24 you get six of Benefit bestselling products in travel/trial sizes. I have never used any Benefit products so I thought this would be a great way for me to try the different products and see if I like any of them enough to buy the full size versions. Plus it comes in handy to have travel size makeup items. I haven't used any of the items yet.

In case your wondering this is what you get in the set:

-posie tint lip & cheek stain

-high beam highlighter

-"that girl" brightening face primer

-Bad gal lash mascara

-Stay Don't Stray primer

-Hoola bronzing powder

The last thing I got was a total impulse buy. I saw it at the first Ulta but I didn't get it. Then I saw it again at the second Ulta and they only had a few left. So I am standing there trying to justify buying both the starter set and this stila palette. My bf got tired of waiting so he goes outside.When I come out after I pay he goes goes "you got both didn't you".  I just couldn't put one back.  I got the stila not so nude collectible palette for $20. Not sure if this is new or not but this was the first time I have seen it. It has 6 eye shadows, 1 all over shimmer, and 1 convertible color. One of the awesome things about this palette is that it is a great size for travel. It also has a little mirror in it. The eye shadows are sugar, fawn, barefoot, buff, mink, dolce. the all over shimmer is in kitten, and convertible color  is in lily. Just noticed some of the eye shadows are very similar if not the same as the ones in the in the moment palette. So the not so nude palette will probably end up being my go to palette for travel since its smaller and thinner than my in the moment palette.  Again I have yet to try the palette. I have not worn any makeup for the past 2 days.

] A closer look at the palette.

If anyone would like swatches and/or reviews on the products once I have tried them let me know and I will be more than happy to do a blog post on it. :)

I also finally bought myself a new brush (very much long over do) but I forgot to take a picture.

Till next time. :)

Nails: Impeccable Greys

So the other night I decided to try one of the nail polishes I have gotten recently but had not yet used. It was late so I kept it really simple, two coats and a top coat. I used Mabelline Color Show in Impeccable Grey and I have to say I love this color. It is a dark dark gray that at times looks purplish/bluish.  The polish applied pretty good but you defiantly need the two coats to really get that dark color.  I also used the new top coat I got which is Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat.  I did my nails Friday night and just today I noticed a few small chips. I tend to be rough on my nails, (my job doesn't help). So I consider going two full days with no chips not to bad. If anyone can recommend any other top coats that would help the polish last longer, please let me know.

Till next time. :)

Recent Beauty Buys!

Hello all, thought I would share some of my recent beauty buys/purchases. Includes some makeup items, some nail polishes, two perfumes and a random hair accessory. All these items were  accumulated over a few weeks.

I will start with makeup.

I repurchased Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express mascara (waterproof)  in very black. Mine was getting dried up and I had been using it since I originally purchased it in June so it was time for a repurchase. I really like Maybelline mascaras.

Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion in original.  I had been using a primer I got from NYC line, but I really wanted to try the Urban Decay one since I have seen it used in so many YouTube videos. I have been using it for a  few weeks now and so far so good.

Next up is Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells eye shadow  trio. BudgetBeautiful  on YouTube mentioned this product in her August Favorites video and since it is only $2.99 I had to check it out. I tried it out today for the first time and my first impression is I like it. I think they will be great neutral colors I can wear to work.

And lastly is Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige. I read about the limited edition Color Tattoo shadows on a few beauty blogs, especially this color.  This color caught my interest as well since the only thing I have close to such a neutral color is the  CoverGirl Shadowblast in Beige Blaze and I find that one just alright, I don't really like the whole wand application. So I happened to see it at my Rid Aid one day when I had stopped in to get something else ( I almost didn't see it). They only had one left so I grabbed it. I am glad I did. I really like the color, its the perfect neutral eye color for me to wear to work when I don't want to skip shadow but I don't wanna look like I am wearing a ton of eye makeup.

A closer look at the shadows.

Next up nail polish.  I haven't used any of these polishes yet.

I picked up two more Sinful Colors polishes.  A matte white called  Snow Me White. I figured a basic white is a good color to have on hand. I wanna get a basic black polish too ( 9/8/12 update:While at Target tonight I picked up the black Sinful Colors polish called Black on Black).  Then I picked up the sparkly All About You because it reminded me of  China Glaze  Electrify  from The Hunger games collection which I was sad I missed that collection.  I also picked up a Maybelline Color Show polish in Impeccable Grey because I really wanted to try their polishes. I  picked up a Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat because I wanted to try another type of top coat.

Next  I picked up 2 perfumes recently.

Purr and Curious

I picked up Katy Perry's Purr in a roller ball because I wanted something I could put in my purse and because I wanted to try the scent and see if I liked enough to buy the regular bottle of it. I am currently looking for a new scent, so if anyone has any suggestions send them my way. I also picked up a 1.7 fl oz bottle of Britney Spear's Curious. I had the big bottle of this fragrance when it first came out.  I remember liking it back then and re-smelling it now I still like it.  I had to toss my big bottle of it though cause it sat in my room at home unused when I went away to college and when I got finally moved back home it wasn't any good and I think the spray part was broken as well. So I got myself a small bottle of it at Tj Maxx cause it was cheap. Love the bottle too.

And lastly I got a hair accessory when I was at Walmart.

They had a 2 pack of the ribbon hair ties for only $2. 9/8/12 update: tonight at Target I noticed that they had a 3 pack of these hair ties 2 packs for $5 (not the $5 each as I had thought) or 1 for $2.50. I picked up 2 packs of them even though I still have yet to try them. Hopefully I will like them and they are as good as everyone on YouTube says. They definitely look prettier than just a plain old elastic hair tie.

What are some of your recent beauty buys?

9/10/12

I figured I would add this to this post since its only a few things. On Saturday  along with going to Target I also stopped into Bath & Body Works. I had been waiting for their full line of fall scents to come out cause I wanted to get a fall scented lotion for my bathroom. After smelling all the scents I ended up going with the scent that had already been out for like a month, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. I had a coupon for a free small mini candle so I picked up  one in Leaves. I also had a coupon for a free sample size lotion of their new scent Cashmere Glow so I also picked that up as well. Just put some on now and the scent is pretty nice. I love these size lotions cause they are perfect for your purse. Plus you can't go wrong with free. The best way to know when they are going to offer a coupon for a free sample lotion is to like them on Facebook. You can claim it and they email you the coupon, and then you can just show them on your phone the coupon, you don't have to print it out.

Till next time. :)

Fall movies I wanna see!

Hello all, fall movies post. First are two movies that I am really excited to see:

This Is 40 (Dec. 21)

The sort of sequel to Knocked Upstaring Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, directed by Judd Apatow.

The movie follows Rudd and Mann's characters from Knocked Up as they face that big life event, turning 40. I thought Knocked Up was hilarious and I love Paul Rudd and pretty much all of his movies. So when I heard about they were making this movie I was very happy.

and

Les Miserables (Dec. 14)

The movie based on the 1980s stage musical, which was based on Victor Hugo's novel staring Hugh Jackson, Russell Crowe,  and Anne Hathaway, directed by Tom Hooper.

So I have never seen the musical (or read the novel) but my mom had the soundtrack to the musical and (this is going back awhile ago) I ended up listening to it and really liking it. I also remember watching  Dawson Creek when I was like 14/15 and hearing Joey ( Katie Holmes) sing "On My Own" in a episode.  I am excited to be able to see the story  along with hearing the songs.

It would take me forever to talk about each of the movies I wanna see. So I am just going to list the ones I hope to catch in the theaters (or watch on DVD if I miss it in theaters).

* Looper (Sept. 28)

* The Words (Sept. 7)

* The Perks of Being a Wallflower (Sept 14)

* End of Watch (Sept. 21)

* Bachelorette (Sept. 7)

* Argo (Oct. 12)

* Cloud Atlas (Oct. 26)

*Taken 2 (Oct. 5)

* Wreck-It Ralph ( Nov. 2)

* The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 ( Nov. 16)

* Silver Linings Playbook ( Nov 21)

* The Guilt Trip (Dec. 25)

* The Impossible (Dec. 21)

* Django Unchained (Dec. 25)

* On The Road (Dec. 21)

* Parental Guidance ( Dec. 25)

What fall movies are you looking forward to seeing?

Till next time. :)

P.S. Release dates in parentheses are subject to change.

Reorganizing And A New Purse

Hello all, just wanted to talk about a few things.

Reorganizing.

I am in the process of reorganizing my bedroom and how I store things. My bedroom is on the small side so I don't have room to have a vanity/makeup table :( . So I decided to get a storage cart (the one with ten colorful drawers, famously seen on Youtube).

Going to use it for my makeup and maybe some nail and hair stuff, etc. This stuff is currently on my dressers so I figured it would free up my dresser tops and make them look less cluttered. Let me know if I should do a post about how I reorganized when I am done.

New purse

I spent the day with my dad. We took a ride upstate, had lunch and went to Walmart and TJ Maxx (two stores I don't go to often).  I got some beauty stuff but more on that later.  I was looking in TJ Maxx not really looking for anything in particular and I came across this great purse which I liked right away. The brand is Sparrow True and it was $25 (which is $5  cheaper than the purse I got at Target which I have been using all summer). It is a medium size, over the shoulder bag. The color is a dark grayish black. Inside there is one main pocket (which zippers up, a must have for me).  There is also a small zipper pocket in the main pocket. Outside are two small pockets which snap close. I really like the style of the bag and I think it will be perfect for the fall/winter.

I just wanted to mention that I am not doing a August favorites post because most of my August favorites are the same things from July.

One last thing:

Saw it at Walmart and couldn't pass it up. It was only $19.99 and it comes with a Mockingjay pendant which I thought was cool.

Till next time. :)
